Welcome to the "Ceres Bulls" Blog!

I have been thinking about doing this for some time, but haven't had the "creative courage" to do so! I have finally taken the leap to blogging!

This blog is mainly designed to stay in touch with our extended families. Because we are all so far apart, and don't get together on a regular basis, I thought it would be great to have a place that we can post all of our activities and stay up to date with everyone. It seems that time goes so fast, and the kids grow up even faster, so this will allow everyone a chance to keep up with the Bulls.

especially since she is a freshman! Montana is swimming with the upper class and is one of the top swimmers on the team. Of course, this is the biased opinion of Mom, but I thought it was worth mentioning ;) The last two days she had swim meets, so Montana is pretty wiped out today, but she is happy competing as swimming is her passion. Montana will also share her after-school time practicing for the upcoming school performance of The Wizard of Oz, by Frank Baum. Unfortunately, Montana didn't get a "main" part, but she is part of the Chorus. This will allow her to be in multiple scenes, as a Munchkin and as one of the Flying Monkeys. More to come on these topics...

Madison is busy with school work and drama. I am very proud of Madison as she recently got her report card and was able to bring her GPA up to 3.75! She had a couple of classes that she got a B in during the second quarter, and she was able to bring two of these back up to A's. We were happy with the B's, as Madison tried her hardest, but she put a lot of extra work into getting two of them back to A's. Madison wanted to try out for the school dance team, the Warrior Dance Team, and she had her tryouts last Friday. She worked hard, going to their workshops the previous week, learning a dance that all of the kids performed. Unfortunately, this wasn't meant to be and Madison didn't make the team. I have been telling Madison that there are certain things that make us stronger, and unfortunately these things hurt the most. However, Madison is excited about drama and is taking drama as one of her electives this semester.

Many nights we have "readings" at the dinner table, with the girls taking turns reading monologues or performing scenes for Tracy and I. To give you an idea of the more well known plays they are reading from, we have heard readings of Barefoot In The Park or The Odd Couple. I love to see the girls express themselves through drama, and to see each of them blossom in their own special ways.

Tracy and I feel blessed to have each other and to have very special girls. We really do count our blessings every day as we know that all parent's don't get children like we have.

Next writing will probably be during spring break...the girls and I will be going to Oregon. The swim team will be back in full swing and Tracy will be busy coaching. Even without Tracy, even though we will miss him, the girls and I should have a great time.
